Young scientists experience the fun of science with hands-on activities using real laboratory tools. Educators involve the participants through multi-sensory learning and encourage them to use their natural curiosity and imagination to experiment, discover, and learn.
Youth groups take part in facilitated and grade-level specific programs that extend and reinforce science principles. Discovery Areas provide in-depth learning in a structured environment.

What’s Included
Early Learning Programs
Busy Buzzing Bees
Learners will explore and investigate the special features of honeybees and their important role in helping transfer pollen from one flower to another. They will learn about the anatomy of bees and create a model of a bee to use in a play based experiment involving the transference of pollen.
Light and Shadow
Learners will investigate the role light plays in creating shadows and define terms such as opaque and translucent. Leaners will be able to make a model to help them explore shadows and learn about how light sources can vary and can create different shadows.
Engineering Water
Learners will use science processes to investigate volume, water displacement and buoyancy. They will learn that the volume of water can be measured, and explore that sinking and floating is influenced by an object’s shape and materials. Using this knowledge, they will design and craft vessels and test their creations with moving water and weight.
Sensational Senses
Learners will explore the five senses of sight, taste, hearing, touch, and smell through various activities. Learners will experiment with each sense and describe results including, but not limited to texture, sound, and taste and learn how our brain helps us understand the world around us.
Busy Buzzing Bees
Young makers will discover electricity and circuits by exploring electronic blocks. Participants will build a robot and add circuits to make it light up and move. They will add switches and explore other ways to control their circuits.
Light and Shadow
It is the year 3,000 and it is now possible for humans to genetically engineer or create planets, and animals to live on that planet. You are one of the scientists working on the animals and it is your job to create an animal that will be perfectly suited to its environment on this new planet.
