Art Science

Participants will discover the science behind art, and how it ties into other elements of STEAM.

Youth groups participate in facilitated and grade-level specific programs that extend and reinforce science principles. Discovery Areas provide in-depth learning in a structured environment.

Programs are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., Tuesday - Friday. Programs are a 90-minute experience.

Discovery Areas are not available during summer hours, Memorial Day - Labor Day.

This is an add-on to Science
City admission. Cost will be $6 per student. Maximum 25 students.

Creative Corner Programs

Artists by Nature

During this Art & Science discovery area, students will learn about patterns in nature and art. The science lesson will focus on the role of camouflage as an animal adaptation and a factor in predator and prey relationships. The art lesson will focus on creating a painting using repeating visual elements that effectively camouflage a foreground subject into the painting’s background.
