Science City wants to be a part of your community or company event with our interactive and educational science programs. These demonstrations stimulate interest and teach basic science concepts. Along with our traditional Stage Shows, we also offer virtual options, including a pre-recorded stage show or a live stage show facilitated by an educator.
The PNC Discovery Lab will travel to early education centers — such as Head Start locations — and provide onsite programming by Science City educators. The Lab is spacious and fully equipped to deliver high-value, educator-led programming. It’s part of a $1 million PNC Grow Up Great ® grant that supports early learning programs in underserved communities.
Shows are approximately 30 minutes in length.
Wondrous Weather

Bounce, Spin, Pull!

Prepare for an introductory voyage into physics in Bounce, Spin, Pull! Learn about the basics of cause & effect, rotation, objects in motion, and more! This presentation will include an in-person activity led by the presenter(s) after the show.

Learn about the science of combustion in a super-hot, enlightening demonstration. Observe the effect of heat on different substances in these controlled explosions. We emphasize important fire and safety practices. Available as a virtual program.

Explore the often invisible yet amazing forces of classical mechanics! The physical concepts of gravity, centripetal force, elastic and inelastic collisions, and energy are explained using bouncing sports equipment and spinning wheels. Available as a virtual program.
