Indoor Fun for the Whole Family!
Speed Read: Test your reading skills with a speed-reading exercise! Read a phrase in different typeface and participate in a scientific survey to determine what fonts work best for your age group and why.
Paper Making: Watch how paper is made from pulp! Volunteer to participate in this hands-on activity to squeeze the water from paper and pulp and make new sheets.
Zines
Learn how to fold, create, and share their zines. For our younger friends there will be some pre-made templates as well as lots of examples to be used as inspiration for what a zine could be!
Make a Notebook
Learn about a simple book binding technique and the history of book binding. Use 3D printed pegs and other 3D printed stencils to decorate your notebook in the Maker Studio this month.
Animal Chats
Join us at 11:30 and 3:30 to learn more about our animals!
This month animal chats will focus on how animals are able to communicate without talking by using techniques such as color or sound.
Sunday animal chats are at 12:30 and 2.
Mini Med School
Come learn about the human body in the PNC Learning Lab this month!
Experiments in Expression
Word are only part of our story! Communication is more than WHAT we say—it’s HOW we say it. Experiments in Expression shows us how emotions, gestures, and vocal expression work together to shape how we say words in communication. Investigate the role of feelings & body language by pairing various emotions with a single sentence. How can the same words take on completely different meanings? Come find out in this interactive activity, highlighting the science of LANGUAGE & LINGUISTICS!
