kidFEST Schedule

10:30 am – 11:30 pm Baby Paint Crawl
Location: Engineerium
During our Baby Paint Crawl, Science City’s Engineerium classroom is transformed into a blank canvas for our youngest artists to unleash their creativity, explore with their senses and get messy as they create with non-toxic paint! Parent attendance and participation is required.

1 pm – 4:30 pm Color Changing Oobleck
Location: Engineerium
Explore Chemical Engineering with Oobleck! Learn about mixing, reactions, acids and bases with a colorful experiment for all ages!

10 am – 4:30 pm Slimy Snail Trails
Location: Maker Studio
Use fine-motor skills to lace yarn and decorate laser-cut snails. Slide gummy worms through fluids of various viscosities to simulate snail trails and how they move!.

10 am – 4:30 pm Making Bouncy Balls
Location: Periodic Table
Learn about chemistry as you mix ingredients together to make your very own bouncy ball!

10 am – 4:30 pm Shaving Cream Prints
Location: Creative Corner
Mix paint and shaving cream to create your own prints in this low-mess art activity.

10 am – 4:30 pm “Gyotaku” Printing
Location: Nature Works “Patio”
Use replica sea life along with paints to create your own pictures using this traditional Japanese style of printing.

10 am – 4:30 pm Sensory Stations
Location: PNC Learning Lab
Explore tubs of materials at stations throughout the room queued to sensory-dedicated exploration. Gather tools and experience textures galore!

11 am & 2 pm Science on a Sphere Show
Location: Science on a Sphere
Experience a rousing presentation on volcanoes followed by a dynamic volcanic eruption display!

10:30 am – 3:30 pm Dino Lab Open House
Location: Dino Lab
Visit with real life paleontologists and see real fossils

11:30 am – 2:30 pm Face Painters
Location: Tapped Out Classroom

11:30 am – 2:30 pm Balloon Artist
Location: Periodic Table

10 am – 3 pm Kona Ice

3 pm – 4pm Bubble Party
