Science City’s newest signature event, Spring Fling, returns on Saturday, April 20, 10am-5pm! Bring your entire family for an exciting day jam-packed full of hands-on activities, interactive demos, face painters, and plenty of FUN – all with a special Spring theme!

April 20th – Spring Fling Schedule

10 am – 4:30 pm – Spring Themed Crayon Rubbing Art: Create vibrant compositions using spring themed crayon rubbing plates!
Location: Creative Corner

10 am – 4:30 pm – Butterfly Brooch: Assemble a butterfly brooch using felt fabric, sequins and additional supplies. Plus, once complete you can wear your brooch the rest of the day!
Location: Maker Studio

10 am – 4:30 pm – Mud Making: Early learners will explore the different ways water interacts with dirt in various quantities to make mud! Experiment and take your mud creation home in an air-tight container
Location: PNC Learning Lab

10 am – 4:30 pm – Earth Day Activity: Celebrate all things spring and Earthy by growing you rown wildflowers, making toys out of recyclable materials and more! While supplies last.

10 am – 4:30 pm – Building LEGO Earth: Use your imagination to create the planet Earth made with LEGO® bricks! Once you’ve finished your Earth, add it to the Engineerium’s community mosaic board.

11 am – 3 pm – Face Painters: From sunshine to lightning bolts or flowers to butterflies, enjoy spring-themed face painting brought to you by SA Entertainment.

11:30 am & 2 pm – How Nature Works: Learn how animals are part of our world and what their “jobs” are.

12:30 pm & 2:30 pm – Climate Change 101: Learning about climate change can often lead to more questions than answers. Join us for a presentation looking at change on our planet Earth and what is being done to tackle this topic. Together, we can embark on the journey towards a more sustainable and resilient future

1:00 pm – CANCELLED Eco Elvis Performance: We’ll be “rockin’ for a green world” with popular tunes and classic hits given a fun, Weird Al-style makeover with an Earth Day theme!

3:30 pm – Under Pressure Stage Show: How much power is available from the air? What can we do with it? How do extreme temperatures affect air density? What do we mean by atmospheric pressure? Learn the answers to these questions and more in a fun, interactive stage show.
